Scanning and 3D model of a sheet metal bending machine

For a corporate client, we scanned a dismantled sheet metal bending machine in person at their premises. Based on the scans, we created a 3D model of the individual parts.

Brief

A corporate client had a sheet metal bending machine dismantled into individual parts and needed digital documentation of it. They had no 3D model of the individual components.

Solution

We scanned the dismantled parts in person at the client’s premises. From the scans we then created a 3D model of the individual parts, so the client received digital documentation for each component separately.

Why scan on site? With a larger machine dismantled into parts, it is easier to bring the scanner to the parts than to transport the parts. The client does not have to deal with transport or damage during handling.

Result

The client received a 3D model of the individual parts of the bending machine, which can be used as a basis for further work with them.

  • Process: on-site scanning, model creation
  • Output: 3D model of the individual parts
