Brief
The client was developing a new electric toothbrush model and needed prototype parts on which to assess the shape, appearance and assembly of the product. There were several different parts, including some that had to be transparent.
Solution
We made the parts with SLA technology, which suits detailed, smooth prototypes. We printed the brush body, a transparent button, a holder and other components, so the client could assemble the whole prototype.
Why SLA? For prototypes that should resemble the finished product as closely as possible, fine detail and a smooth surface matter. Resin printing makes this possible and also suits transparent parts.
Result
The client received a set of prototype parts of the new brush model, which they could use to keep assessing and adjusting the design.
- Technology: SLA 3D printing
- Scope: several different parts of one device
- Use: prototype for assessing the design
